It's been a while.
Summer has come and gone, and so have I. Now it's winter, and I think I owe a post.
Europe was absolutely amazing. Inspiring, eye-opening, and altogether wonderful and painful and fabulous. I want to move there as soon as possible.
But for now, time marches on. There are things to be learned, grades to be made, bills to be tended to.
Troubadour is making some headway, though certainly not what I thought it would have been by now. Nevertheless, I have a good foundation, I think.
The story itself, I feel I should mention, is about a servant named Thomas living in an odd sort of steampunk-Victorian era. The setting isn't really the important part. Vaughton Hall refers to the estate of his master, John W. Mathrowe, III. Quite a name, isn't it? Thomas's life begins happily, but quickly takes a downturn when his father tragically dies in a riding accident. Now destitute, he takes a job at Mathrowe's house as butler (the first butler the estate has had in a good while, actually) and things go on from there.
Considering that it's nearly four in the morning, I think I'll leave it at that.

So I wasn't going to use this blog, but since I've got a trip to Europe coming up and my parents would like to see some of the photos, I think I might actually do something with it. And of course, I can probably still manage to post about my story, but any entries containing actual work on it will be posted to my friends-locked livejournal.
And for those of you who don't already know me, I'm Ney (short for Courtney, if you're wondering) and I live in the state of Georgia. I'm a sophomore in college and I'm studying animal science in hopes of doing something possibly with veterinary medicine.
So, stay tuned for some photos and other stuff.
